The International Conferences on Mercury as a Global Pollutant (ICMGP) are organized by an international Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) in cooperation with companies specializing in the planning and organization of international conferences, exhibitions and trade fairs. The SSC is composed of leading scientists, policy makers and representatives of various respective industries. The Chairperson(s) of the SSC is responsible for setting up the SSC for a given Conference and its further work. The Chairperson(s) together with other members of the SSC selects the meeting management company that will help organize a given Conference. This selection can be made before or after the decision is made regarding the selection of the Conference host country/region.
The ICMGP conferences are non-profit events. Any eventual surplus of the budget will be transferred to the following conference and dedicated mostly to support participation of young scientists and students, as well as researchers from countries with developing economies.
