Join us for this great opportunity that brings together students and post docs to engage in face-time with more established mercury professionals and researchers while enjoying complimentary lunch and beverages—space is limited – register early! Mentors will engage separately with graduate students or post-docs/early career scientists as their needs and questions are different. Gain valuable information on various career options and industry insights, while establishing professional connections that may lead to future job opportunities and collaborations. Network and learn from the best, as participants sit down and chat with a number of professionals, researchers, and academics within mercury-related fields from all over the world. The mentors will remain in contact with their mentees throughout the meeting to build on the experience gained over lunch.

When registering, mentees and mentors can select their discipline: Careers in academia, government, NGOs, consulting or industry. Topics for discussion over lunch and at the meeting include:

✓ Writing papers and the review process and ethics in publishing

✓ Writing grants and obtaining funding

✓ Existing graduate student & post-doctoral funding opportunities (government, institution and industry fellowships)

✓ Work/Life balance in research and other scientific careers

✓ Gender and other diversity issues in science

✓ Nontraditional research careers

✓ Adopting a career philosophy to have an impact on global science policy
